Flameworked, handmade glass marbles and more
by glass artist Brennan Thorgerson
of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
It all starts with rods and tubes of clear and colored borosilicate glass. The glass is melted in the flame of a torch fueled by oxygen and propane. Once molten, around 3000°F, it's shaped by using spinning, gravity and a handful of tools. After annealing for strength and durability, the result is a truly one-of-a-kind piece of art.
